Tom Ravenscroft is a freelance journalist and academic who currently resides in the UK.

Though he feels particularly educated in European Renaissance and Modern Architecture, Tom gained a deep knowledge of all things architectural during his four year graduate program at one of the UK’s premier architecture schools, the University of Edinburgh. His dissertation involved an in depth study of the architectural development of Scotland's capital city, Edinburgh.

After gaining a first-degree Master's in Architectural History (known in the U.S. as a Master's with honors), Tom traveled extensively in Europe, Latin America, Asia and the United States. His one-man "Grand Tour" took him to some of the world’s most important and interesting buildings and allowed him to gain firsthand knowledge of his chosen field. From the Colombian Catholic cathedrals to indigenous ruins in Peru, high rise skycrapers in New York, and one epic Singaporean ferris wheel, Tom's architectural know-how is widespread, to say the least.

His work has been published in print in several newspapers and travel guidebooks and has appeared online at a variety of travel and architecture based websites. Aside from architecture journalism, Tom's writing portfolio includes travel, culture, history and sports.
